Discovering the Hidden Treasure of CDRA Committees

by Andrea Johnson, CDRA Director of Operations
When I joined the CDRA in 2019, it was due to the C&D World conferences. The knowledge I gained by attending the conferences more than paid for my membership. I would come home with my nuggets of information, work to apply them, and then wait for the next conference to come around. I remember hearing the committee reports at the conferences, but I never connected them to me or my operation. When I heard the word committee, I assumed that I had to be invited to join and honestly, every committee I have ever been on resulted in extra work for me and I was not looking for that.

Those of us on the east coast welcomed members from as far away as Hawaii this time! But what is consistent about our meetings is that we again had an amazing discussion on the gypsum market, with an emphasis on recovery and reuse, and the crucial role recyclers can play that benefits us all.
