AWI Hits Milestone in Recycling Program 2025 Sustainability Report Highlights

CDRA member Armstrong World Industries (AWI) continues to drive sustainable innovation with the release of its 2025 Sustainability Report, highlighting key advancements in environmental stewardship. Among the most notable achievements, AWI’s Ceilings Recycling Program—the first of its kind in the nation—celebrated its 25th anniversary, having successfully diverted over 221 million sq. ft. of ceiling tiles from landfills since its inception.

In addition to this industry-leading milestone, AWI made significant progress toward its 2030 sustainability goal, ensuring all products have a viable path for recycling, reuse, or repurposing. The company introduced Ultima® Low Embodied Carbon (LEC) ceiling panels, reducing material-related carbon emissions by 43% while maintaining carbon neutrality through 2026. Sustainability remains a core focus, with 90% of 2024 revenue generated from products that provide LEED credits.
