Safety and Risk Management Committee

During our meeting on September 17th, Chair Kelsey Thomas offered an update on the Best Practices in Safety Awards program (see the earlier article in this newsletter) and noted that the application should be ready for distribution to the membership very soon. The committee is planning to share testimonials from recent awards program participants. One member noted the recent improvements in their program as a result of examining their safety training and processes through the Safety Awards Program!

Next, Alison Rock of Marsh McLennan Agency discussed the potential of using AI technology to film and then analyze workplace safety and ergonomics. One of the primary aims of tools such as TuMeke software, which was the primary tool examined during this meeting, is to minimize personal risk factors associated with normal day-to-day tasks. Opportunities to limit or eliminate on-the-job hazards were shared. She also offered an enthusiastic review of recent advances in personal protective equipment. The group in attendance was extremely impressed by this presentation and invite others to get involved in this impactful committee.

Finally, a breakout session on insurance premiums and claims was also offered as a potential opportunity for the upcoming C&D World Annual Conference. Interested in viewing the full recording? You can view the Zoom recording with passcode: dRgBTs1*
