Tadj had a terrific work ethic that allowed him, along with his wife of 50 years, Pamela, to build up his father’s construction company, including beginning the recycling of concrete and asphalt more than 30 years ago. Tadj was an original board member of the CDRA and an early inductee into the C&D Hall of Fame. During the early days of the CDRA, there was no stronger supporter of the organization’s mission. The tradition of recycling lives on at Ondrick Material and Recycling through his two sons, Adam and Todd. The CDRA extends its condolences to the entire Ondrick family.

According Matthew Tejada, Director of the U.S. EPA’s Office of Environmental Justice, who spoke at the virtual Annual Meeting of the Institute of the Scrap Recycling Industry, the tenets of environmental justice (EJ) include the belief that humans have the right to determine what is in their communities, including what industries. And some communities are never going to grant entry to specific types of industries (and might even work to remove what is already there). Waste facilities fall into that category of not often being wanted.
