Board Member Andrea Johnson Reflects on Industry Visits

Andrea Johnson, CDRA Board Member and Co-Chair of the Legislative Committee, recently shared her experiences on LinkedIn that highlight the invaluable benefits of CDRA membership. Over the course of an eventful week, Andrea welcomed visits from key industry leaders, each offering insights that have already begun to impact her operations.

Reflecting on a visit from Terry Weaver and his colleague Mike from USA Gypsum, Andrea shared, "One of the many things I truly love about being a CDRA member is the access to industry specialists that I can learn from. It is hard to describe how dedicated this organization is to truly helping members serve their communities better and improve their operations." Terry’s expertise in gypsum recycling proved invaluable during their tour of Andrea’s facility, and she noted that his suggestions have already led to actionable improvements: "We have already started implementing his suggestions and are excited to grow in this area."

As the week progressed, Andrea's team was further enriched by a visit from Terri Ward, Executive Director of CDRA, John Thomas from Mount Materials and CDRA Board President, and Todd Byrum from Butler Paper. "To say that my team and I felt privileged by their visit is an understatement," Andrea shared. "The decades of industry experience from each of them individually is impressive, but the three of them combined is staggering. That they took the time to not only come out and see what we are doing but to provide insights as to new potential markets, equipment, and processes was fantastic."

Andrea expressed her deep gratitude to Terry, Terri, John, and Todd, saying, "Having experts like these come through and offer suggestions is truly priceless. We are excited to implement their ideas and continue to grow."

Andrea’s story is a testament to the power of collaboration and the wealth of knowledge that CDRA members can tap into, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation in the industry.
